First of all we have changed the names of only those sanyasins who requested us for changing their names.
Second thing, till Osho used to give the names by himself, it used to be really graceful, names used to be very meaningful and used to direct the seeker towards the path. The names which are being given after Osho, they are not given by considering that person and sometimes they become meaningless due to spelling mistakes also. Many people have been given such names which cannot be even pronounced easily. God knows that they are the words of which language. In such situation we give some meaningful names to the friends on their request.

Third thing, Osho changed the name because they want to break the people’s connection with their name. So that you can know that I am not the name. New name is not given for getting connected to it. Therefore those who have blamed us should rethink that the change in the name hurts your ego because of your attachment with your name.
Osho himself changed his name many a times. Do you remember it or not? Osho must be getting surprised that these people have got so much involved in names. It is surprising that fight is going on in the court on the matter that who has the legal right on the name ‘Osho’.
